Jewish Community magazine
The magazine of the Jewish Community in Frankfurt
The Jewish Community magazine, Jüdische Gemeindezeitung (JGZ), is the official publication of the Jewish Community in Frankfurt. There are four editions a year: at Passover, Rosh Hashana and Hanukkah, and just before the summer break. With a circulation of 5,000, the magazine keeps community members up to date with developments at Executive Board and Council meetings, community institutions (such as the childcare facilities, the I. E. Lichtigfeld School and welfare office), and in religious life. In addition, the JGZ reports on affiliated organisations, such as WIZO, Makkabi and the Central Board for Jewish Welfare in Germany (ZWST). It also covers Jewish cultural life in the city and deals with current political issues through interviews with prominent figures from politics and civil society.
The JGZ has been running since 1968 and is a popular way of posting classified ads.
